AB 617 Funding 101 Webinar
The Community Air Protection Program (Program) at the California Air Resources Board (CARB) invites you to participate in a webinar to discuss the Assembly Bill 617 Funding Process. Assembly Bill (AB) 617 (C. Garcia, Chapter 136, Statutes of 2017) is focused on improving air quality in communities disproportionately exposed to air pollution in California. The AB 617 Budget webpage offers an FAQ document and a short slide deck with more information.
There will be two public virtual webinars offering the same content. The purpose of the webinars is to share information about AB 617 funding, including the allocation process, funding categories, accountability, examples of how funds are used, and opportunities for community participation. We welcome participation from the public, AB 617 Community Steering Committees, community-based organizations, air districts, and other stakeholders.

Pre-recorded webinar to inform of the 2021 Community Recommendations and Selection Process for the Community Air Protection Program.
Since 2018, CARB selected a total of 15 communities to develop local plans to measure and reduce air pollution, and work in these communities is well underway. The communities are either planning, developing, or implementing community emissions reduction programs. CARB staff work with community-based organizations, air districts, and the public annually to develop community recommendations for CARB’s Board to consider for selection. CARB plans to hold a virtual meeting in the Fall to discuss the CARB staff’s draft 2021 Community Recommendations, the CARB board will consider 2021 Community Recommendations at the February 10, 2022 CARB Board meeting.

February 2018 Technical Summits
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) invites you to participate in technical summits on the implementation of the Community Air Protection Program (Program).
The Program was established as directed in Assembly Bill (AB) 617 (C.Garcia, Chapter 136, Statutes of 2017) and provides a new community-focused action framework to reduce exposure in disadvantaged communities most impacted by air pollution. Development of the Program is still in the early stages, and staff have drafted a concept paper to seek continued advice and feedback to guide our efforts going forward. The summits will provide stakeholders with the opportunity to have a detailed discussion about the draft concept paper.
