CARB announces new Director of Office of Community Air Protection

SACRAMENTO – Today CARB Executive Officer Richard W. Corey announced the appointment of Deldi Reyes as the new Director of the Office of Community Air Protection (DOCAP). Reyes will oversee all activities related to CARB’s implementation of the Community Air Protection Program (CAPP) the community-focused program established under AB 617 to more effectively reduce exposure to air pollution and preserve public health.

New CARB investment program awards first $1 million for large, cutting-edge refrigeration systems

SACRAMENTO – The latest business incentive program from the California Air Resources Board will tackle a group of climate super pollutants with global warming potential thousands of times greater than carbon dioxide. The $1 million investment will help pay for new, innovative refrigeration equipment at 14 grocery stores and two retrofits from the Bay Area to San Diego, with a focus on stores located in low-income and disadvantaged communities.

CARB announces new executive to lead Environmental Justice, Community Air Protection Program

SACRAMENTO – Today CARB Executive Officer Richard W. Corey announced the appointment of Chanell Fletcher as the Deputy Executive Officer of Environmental Justice. Fletcher will oversee CARB’s Environmental Justice and Community Air Protection Program and be responsible for developing CARB-wide environmental justice policies. She will play a key role in CARB’s programs designed to address disproportionate impacts from air pollution and climate change and associated chronic health conditions affecting Black, Latinx and other communities of color across the state.

CARB approves $28 million investment in clean trucks, cars

SACRAMENTO – The California Air Resources Board approved $28 million in Air Quality Improvement Program (AQIP) funding to support two popular statewide incentive programs aimed at bringing the cleanest vehicle technologies to low-income and underserved communities.
