SACRAMENTO – California officials say clean vehicle purchases and new projects that have come online since December 2020 will eliminate 11,000 tons of air pollutants and toxics from California’s air. The California Air Resources Board administers the California Climate Investments program, funded with proceeds from the State’s Cap-and-Trade GHG emissions reduction program.

SOUTH EL MONTE – El Monte Union High School District community members and stakeholders received a glimpse at the future of transportation in the San Gabriel Valley, as the brand new all-electric school bus fleet arrived at South El Monte High School, heralding the inception of the District’s $9.8 million Clean Mobility in Schools Pilot Project, celebrated during a “green” ribbon-cutting ceremony held Aug. 18.

SACRAMENTO – CARB appointed Ambreen Afshan as the inaugural Manager of the Office of Environmental Justice (OEJ). As manager she will oversee OEJ staff as well as the Office’s activities—including CARB’s efforts to advance racial equity, address environmental justice, inform community engagement, outreach, and partnership building.

SACRAMENTO – Attorney General Rob Bonta and the California Air Resources Board (CARB) today announced a $2.38 million settlement against Complete Logistics Company, LLC (CLC), resolving allegations that the trucking operator falsely claimed compliance with California emissions regulations in order to obtain $2.2 million in state grants to purchase newer, cleaner trucks. The Goods Movement Emission Reduction Program, funded under Proposition 1B, uses incentive grants to entice trucking companies to reduce emissions below the threshold required under law.

SACRAMENTO – The California Air Resources Board approved the Community Emissions Reduction Program (CERP) for the city of Stockton as mandated under Assembly Bill 617. This is the 9th CERP adopted by the Board, and the third CERP to be brought forward by the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District.

SACRAMENTO – The California Air Resources Board today released greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory data for 2019, showing further reductions below the AB 32 emissions reduction target. That target, a return to 1990 GHG levels, was achieved by the state four years ahead of schedule in 2016.

SACRAMENTO – Under a settlement agreement reached with the California Air Resources Board, Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling LLC will pay $137,000 in penalties for violating a state air quality regulation.

SACRAMENTO – The California Air Resources Board today announced the appointment of ten new members to the AB 32 Environmental Justice Advisory Committee (EJAC). This brings the total number of members to 21.
