Report shows how billions of Cap-and-Invest dollars continue to benefit California communities

What you need to know: The California Air Resources Board released a new report showing the state’s Cap-and-Invest program has generated $36.2 billion for climate investments, $15.5 billion of which have been implemented through over 600,000 projects. With billions yet to be implemented and $8 billion in additional proceeds estimated through 2030, these funds are expected to continue reducing emissions and supporting jobs across the state for years to come. 

California dedicates $70 million for incentives to reduce emissions from off-road equipment

What you need to know: The California Air Resources Board approved the next round of funding for the Air Quality Improvement Program and allocated it to the state’s Clean Off-Road Equipment Voucher Incentive Project (CORE). CORE encourages California off-road equipment owners to purchase or lease commercial zero-emission off-road equipment. Off-road equipment continues to be a considerable source of emissions and an incentive funding category with high demand throughout the state.

California and Quebec release summary results from 47th joint cap-and-invest allowance auction

SACRAMENTO – Today at noon (PST), California and Quebec released the results of the 47th joint California Cap-and-Invest and Quebec Cap-and-Trade auction of carbon allowances from both jurisdictions. The final numbers include sales figures and settlement prices for Current Vintage allowances (2024 and 2026) and Advanced Vintage allowances (2029).

California settles certification and emissions violations case with Volvo Group North America, LLC for nearly $197 million

What you need to know: The California Air Resources Board settled with Volvo Group North America, LLC for nearly $197 million for alleged violations of emissions and certification requirements. The state will receive almost $18 million in penalties and $71 million towards mitigation of the air quality harms caused by the violations, with an additional $108 million going towards emission reduction projects across California.
