Concepts to Reduce Emissions from Locomotives and Railyards
In the absence of federal action to address harmful emissions from locomotives and railyards, CARB and SCAQMD have developed concepts to reduce criteria pollutants, toxic air contaminants, and greenhouse gas emissions for locomotive in-use, idling, and maintenance activities.
Following the first public meeting to discuss the concepts, which will be held in the South Coast, CARB staff will continue to introduce the concepts throughout the state.
