2022 Amendments to the TRU ATCM
On January 3, 2025, U.S. EPA granted California Clean Air Act authorization of elements of its TRU Regulation. In its action, U.S. EPA did not act on the Zero-Emission (ZE) TRU “requirements for the turnover of at least 15 percent of [the] diesel-fueled truck TRU fleet to ZETRU by December 31, 2023, (and each year thereafter)” within the 2022 TRU Amendments. CARB has withdrawn its request for the requirements of the TRU Regulation that were not acted on and is evaluating next steps. As CARB evaluates the EPA action, any resulting implementation changes will be posted here.
