April 10, 2024 9am-4pm | Hybrid: CalEPA HQ (Coastal Hearing Room) and Virtual on Zoom | (Note- Staff will collect substantive questions submitted during the 30-day comment period and share responses after the comment period has concluded.) |
March 15, 2024 11:00AM – 5:00 PM | Virtual | AB 32 Environmental Justice Advisory Committee Meeting |
August 16, 2023 9:00 AM to | Virtual | Public Workshop: Low Carbon Fuel Standard Modeling Updates The California Air Resources Board (CARB or Board) invites you to participate in a public workshop that will cover updates to the California Transportation Supply (CATS) Model used for the Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) program. The CATS Model was developed to support evaluation of the California fuel market and to assess the economic feasibility of potential updates to the program. The CATS Model was originally released on December 6, 2022, and an updated version was released with an inputs file on March 3, 2023. This workshop will focus on substantive updates made to the inputs file since the previous release. |
Session 1: May 31, 2023 6:00 PM to Session 2: June 1, 2023 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM | Virtual | Low Carbon Fuel Standard Virtual Community Meetings The California Air Resources Board (CARB or Board) invites community members and interested stakeholders to participate in virtual community meetings to hear an overview of California’s Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) program and provide input on potential future LCFS changes with CARB staff. The LCFS regulation reduces greenhouse gas emissions from transportation fuels used in California and is an important tool in California’s fight against climate change. CARB staff will be holding two virtual community meetings on Zoom, with the same content shared at each. Staff will begin with an overview presentation, including material presented at previous LCFS workshops, and will then make themselves available for questions and comments from the attendees. The goal of the workshops is to hear from community members interested in how the LCFS works and how to improve the LCFS in the future.

May 23, 2023 9:00 AM to | Virtual | Public Workshop: Auto-Acceleration Mechanism for the Low Carbon Fuel Standard The California Air Resources Board (CARB or Board) invites you to participate in a public workshop to provide input on potential changes to the Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) program. The LCFS establishes annual carbon intensity benchmarks that lower the carbon intensity of the California transportation fuel pool annually. In this workshop, we will discuss ways to design a mechanism that would accelerate the carbon intensity benchmarks if certain conditions are met, which may be proposed in the next LCFS regulatory amendments.

February 27, 2023 1:00 PM to | Virtual | LCFS Webinar for 2022 Annual Reporting Each year, the Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) program requires Fuel Pathway Holders of Tier 1, Tier 2, and certain look-up table pathways to submit their Annual Fuel Pathway Reports (AFPRs). Recently, CARB made system updates in the Alternative Fuel Portal, including the AFPRs verification functionality and the verification deferral process. During the webinar, staff will provide (1) the AFPR submission process and the required documents, (2) the procedure for verifying previously deferred annual reports, and (3) an overview of the submission approach for other types of annual report. |
February 22, 2023 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM (morning session) 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM (afternoon session) | Virtual | Public Workshop to Discuss Potential Changes to the Low Carbon Fuel Standard This workshop will consist of a morning and afternoon session. In the morning, staff will present additional information on the potential credit generation opportunities that may affect carbon intensity targets, including stakeholder feedback from previous workshops. Staff will also present preliminary fuel mix and cost outputs from the California Transportation Supply (CATS) model presented at the November 2022 workshop. In the afternoon, staff will present concepts related to streamlining implementation.
