2022 - Assembly Bill 1817 (Ting, Philip), Product safety: textile articles: perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) (Chaptered)

Summary

Prohibits, beginning January 1, 2025, any person from manufacturing, distributing, selling, or offering for sale in the State any new, not previously owned, textile articles that contain regulated PFAS, except as specified, and requires a manufacturer to use the least toxic alternative when removing regulated PFAS in textile articles to comply with these provisions. The bill requires a manufacturer of a textile article to provide persons that offer the product for sale or distribution in the State with a certificate of compliance stating that the textile article is in compliance with these provisions and does not contain any regulated PFAS.

2020 - Assembly Bill 841 (Ting, Philip), Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Training Program and Energy Efficiency Programs (Chaptered)

Summary

Requires the California Public Utilities Commission, on or before March 1, 2021, to review and decide whether to approve two specific pending transportation electrification infrastructure applications and to issue a decision reauthorizing and extending programs and investments previously approved.  This bill also creates the School Building Energy Efficiency Stimulus Program that consists of:  (1) the School Reopening Ventilation and Energy Efficiency Verification and Repair Program and (2) the School Building Noncompliant Plumbing Fixture Program to be adopted by the investor-owned utilities and administered by the California Energy Commission.  The bill requires that up to 25 percent of installation crew members of any State‑funded electric vehicle charging infrastructure be certified under the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Training Program.
