The Regulation to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Semiconductor Operations (regulation) requires the use of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Tier 2b emissions calculation methodology to calculate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. To assist owners and operators with benchmarking and calculating GHG emissions from semiconductor operations in California, California Air Resources Board (CARB) staff developed the Semiconductor Emissions Estimate Calculator (calculator).
CARB staff encourages the use of the calculator. The calculator aids in streamlining compliance, simplifying reporting, and promoting consistency. Owners and operators are ultimately responsible for submitting accurate and complete reports in accordance with the regulation.
