SACRAMENTO – On Tuesday, April 25, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) will hold an enforcement event aimed at upholding air pollution laws by identifying high-emitting heavy-duty trucks along a busy truck route in Sacramento using a mobile emissions monitoring device: the Portable Emissions Acquisition System (PEAQS), which screens for high-emitting vehicles as they drive under it. High-emitting vehicles will be flagged for full inspection, including smoke test, and possible citation.

RIVERSIDE – On Tuesday, April 25, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) will hold an enforcement event aimed at upholding air pollution laws by identifying high-emitting heavy-duty trucks along a busy truck route in Bakersfield using a mobile emissions monitoring device: the Portable Emissions Acquisition System (PEAQS), which screens for high-emitting vehicles as they drive under it. CARB staff expect to process several hundred vehicles at the location.

SACRAMENTO — California today released its annual report for California Climate Investments, which highlights that 74% of investments from 2022 — almost $1 billion — supported communities and households facing greater economic and environmental challenges.

SACRAMENTO – The California Air Resources Board (CARB) today announced the reappointment of all 13 members to its ongoing Environmental Justice Advisory Committee (EJAC). The Committee is comprised of representatives from California communities most heavily impacted by air pollution, including disadvantaged communities with minority or low-income populations.

SACRAMENTO – The California Air Resources Board approved adding two new communities for the Community Air Protection Program to continue the statewide fight to clean the air, especially in communities overburdened with air pollution as mandated under Assembly Bill 617.

SACRAMENTO - The Clean Mobility Options Voucher Pilot Program (CMO) is making about $33 million in voucher funding available to eligible applicants and communities to launch and support new and existing shared mobility projects across the state.

Today at noon (PST), California and Quebec released the results of the 34th joint cap-and-trade auction of carbon allowances from both jurisdictions. The final numbers include sales figures and settlement prices for 2023 (current) and 2026 (advance) vintages.

High-emitting vehicles will be flagged for full inspection, including smoke test, and violators may be cited.

SACRAMENTO – The California Air Resources Board (CARB) reached a settlement agreement with one of the largest, privately held, solid waste companies in California, Burrtec Waste Industries Inc. and its sister company EDCO Disposal Corp., for $305,000 for violations of CARB’s Truck and Bus Regulation.
