April 25, 2017 | Transportation Electrification Meeting A joint effort with ACLT measure to provide an update on electric utility proposals to remove barriers to transportation electrification, and a continued discussion on costs. PG&E, SDG&E, and SCE submitted applications to the CPUC in January, proposing programs aimed at accelerating transportation electrification as directed under SB 350. Some of their proposals target medium- and heavy-duty vehicles. The CPUC plans to give an overview of those specific programs and seeks feedback on the proposals from customers in those sectors. The workgroup will include experts from California's electric utilities, the Public Utilities Commission, transit agencies, and interested stakeholders. This utility workgroup will provide an opportunity for utilities and transit agencies to work more closely to discuss transportation electrification issues, identify synergies, and streamline transit-utility interaction for transit agencies that choose to electrify their fleets. | |

January 19, 2016 | ACT Workgroup Formation The focus of the ACT Workgroup will be to discuss solutions and barriers to implementing zero and near-zero emission technologies in existing transit fleets and how to leverage continued advancements in accelerating the market for the heavy-duty sector. ARB staff is currently seeking to identify Workgroup members with differing perspectives to actively participate in the meetings. In coordination with the California Transit Association, the California Association for Coordinated Transportation, and the Rural County Task Force, a Transit Agency Subcommittee was formed to focus on ways to implement zero and near-zero emission technologies to meet California air quality, climate and public health protection goals while improving transit system mobility and efficiency.
