2024 - Assembly Bill 2083 (Berman, Marc), Industrial Facilities’ Heat Application Equipment and Process Emissions (Dead)
Summary
Would have required the California Energy Commission, on or before July 1, 2026, to evaluate opportunities to increase electrification of industrial heat processes in meeting the State’s industrial emissions goals and subsequently have CARB, as part of its next Scoping Plan update, incorporate this evaluation into a new assessment of the potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the State’s industrial facilities’ heat application equipment and processes consistent with the goals of the Scoping Plan. Held on suspense in the Senate Appropriations Committee.
