Sky’s the Limit Car Care, LLC Settles For $9,500
In April 2023, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and Sky’s the Limit Car Care, LLC (STLCC) of Sanford, Florida reached a settlement for STLCC’s violation of CARB’s Regulation for Reducing Emissions fromConsumer Products (Consumer Products Regulation), specified in California Code of Regulations, title 17, section 94507 et seq.
An investigation by CARB staff revealed that STLCC sold, supplied, and offered for sale in California, adhesive removers, fabric protectant, glass cleaners, and bug and tar remover products that were not in compliance with CARB’s Consumer Products Regulations. The CARPRO products; TarX, TriX, Eraser, and CQuarts Fabric contained concentrations of volatile organic compounds (VOC) that exceeded the standards specified in the California Code of Regulations, title 17, section 94509(a). The violation resulted in 0.61 tons of excess VOC emissions in the General Purpose Adhesive Removers, Fabric Protectant, Glass Cleaners, and Bug and Tar Remover categories over a period of three years.
To settle the case, STLCC agreed to the total penalty of $9,500. This amount will be deposited into CARB's Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality. STLCC fully cooperated with CARB to resolve this matter and is no longer selling these products in California.
