Rubio’s Trucking Company, Inc. Case Settles for $4,100
Rubio’s Trucking Company, Inc. paid $4,100.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $3,075.00 will go the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; and $1,025.00 will go to the School Bus Retrofit Project to retrofit school buses throughout California with diesel emission control strategies. This settlement was reached in June, 2017.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Rubio’s Trucking Company, Inc. failed to bring two of their Transport Refrigeration Units (TRUs) and one diesel truck into compliance with the applicable in-use performance standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the TRU Airborne Toxic Control Measure and the Truck and Bus (TB) Regulation. To settle the case, Rubio’s Trucking Company, Inc. agreed to the $4,100.00 penalty and to comply with TRU, TB, and other ARB programs.
