The air districts in the Sacramento Metro Region adopted updates to the 2009 Sacramento Metropolitan Ozone Nonattainment Area State Implementation for the 1997 8-Hour Ozone Standard (2013 Update). CARB submitted the 2013 Update to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S EPA) as a revision to the California SIP.
On December 21, 2023, the air districts in the Sacramento Metro Nonattainment Area submitted to CARB the Clean Data Determination Request for the 1997 8-Hour Ozone Standard. CARB transmitted the Clean Data Determination Request to the U.S. EPA on Feb 12, 2024.
The five local air districts include Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District (Sac Metro AQMD), El Dorado County Air Quality Management District (El Dorado County AQMD), Feather River Air Quality Management District (Feather River AQMD), Placer County Air Pollution Control District (Placer County APCD), and Yolo-Solano Air Quality Management District (Yolo-Solano AQMD).
