2007 San Joaquin Valley 8-Hour Ozone Plan
Categories
On November 21, 2019, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) approved the Progress Report on San Joaquin Valley Emissions Reductions for the 0.08 parts per million (ppm) 8-Hour Ozone Standard (Report). The Report demonstrates that the San Joaquin Valley (Valley) is on track to attain the 0.08 ppm 8-hour ozone standard in 2023 with existing control measures. The Report also fulfills the commitment CARB made in 2011 to revisit the 2007 Ozone Plan air quality modeling to reflect emission inventory improvements and any other new information for the 8-hour standard. CARB will submit the approved Report and associated supporting documents to the U.S. EPA as a revision to the California State Implementation Plan (SIP).
On October 22, 2015, CARB approved the Updated Transportation Conformity Budgets for the San Joaquin 2008 Ozone, 2012 PM2.5, and 2008 PM10 State Implementation Plans (SIP).
On June 14, 2007, CARB approved the San Joaquin Valley's (SJV) 2007 Ozone Plan. The plan sets out the strategy to attain the federal 1997 8-hour ozone standard by 2024. In September 2007, CARB strengthened the State's commitments to reduce emissions in the Valley in advance of the 2024 attainment date. CARB amended the SJV 2007 8-hour Ozone State Implementation Plan on July 21, 2011. The revisions updated the rulemaking calendar, updated transportation conformity budgets, and revised reasonable further progress tables and associated reductions for contingency purposes. With these revisions, U.S. EPA approved the 2007 SJV 8-hour Ozone Plan on March 1, 2012.
Below you will find links to the Valley's 2007 8-hour Ozone SIP Revisions, letters submitting the plan to U.S. EPA, resolutions, and staff reports.
