Heavy-duty trucks in Sacramento traffic

Reducing Pollution from Heavy-Duty Vehicles

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) works to cut pollution from light-duty vehicles which includes passenger cars, SUVs and pickup trucks as well as from medium-, and heavy-duty vehicles. We do this through regulations, incentives, and other programs to encourage cleaner vehicles. Cleaner vehicles can protect public health, reduce climate pollution, and improve air quality.

CARB has launched Drive Forward to look at new rules and programs to reduce pollution from cars, light trucks and heavy-duty vehicles. Learn about current and upcoming efforts and how you can help shape our programs.
