Miracle Transportation, Inc. Case Settles for $75,200
Miracle Transportation, Inc. will pay $75,200.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $56,400.00 will go the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $18,800.00 will go the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program. This settlement was reached in March 2016.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Miracle Transportation, Inc. failed to: (1) bring nine of their Transport Refrigeration Units (TRU) into compliance with the applicable in-use performance standards (2) bring two of their diesel trucks into compliance with the Truck and Bus (TB) regulation. ARB documented violations as they related to the TRU Airborne Toxic Control Measure (ATCM) and the TB regulation. To settle the case, Miracle Transportation, Inc. agreed to the $75,200.00 penalty and to comply with the TRU ATCM, TB regulation and other ARB programs.
