Community Air Protection Program

In response to Assembly Bill (AB) 617 (C. Garcia, Chapter 136, Statutes of 2017), CARB established the Community Air Protection Program (CAPP or Program). The Program’s focus is to reduce exposure in communities most impacted by air pollution. Communities around the State are working together to develop and implement new strategies to measure air pollution and reduce health impacts.

Peer-to-Peer Learning Series Virtual Event: November 3rd | 5:00-6:30 PM

Register to join us at the kickoff of the Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Learning Series — a space for folks involved in the Community Air Protection Program to connect, share experiences, and learn from one another. These sessions will be interactive and are open to Community Steering Committee (CSC) members, air districts and CARB, Community Air Grants (CAG) grantees, and others working to improve air quality in their communities.

We’ll be joined by Dr. Jonathan London, who will share key takeaways from his research on AB 617 implementation. It’s a great chance to reflect on what’s working, what’s been challenging, and how we can keep building stronger, more effective community-led efforts.
