Dellwood Kitchen and Floor Inc. Settles For $5,000
In July 2020, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) reached a settlement with Dellwood Kitchen and Floor Incorporated (Dellwood Kitchen and Floor), of Anaheim, California, for selling, supplying, and offering for sale in California non-compliant finished goods that contained medium density fiberboard (MDF). The product, Traffic Star Exotic Cypress Laminate Flooring, contained formaldehyde emissions above the limits set forth in the Airborne Toxic Control Measure to Reduce Formaldehyde Emissions from Composite Wood Products (ATCM), which has been in effect since January 1, 2009. Dellwood Kitchen and Floor did not provide a statement of compliance on the customer invoice or customer bill of lading as required. Dellwood Kitchen and Floor is no longer selling the non-compliant flooring product. Dellwood Kitchen and Floor has agreed to pay $5,000 to settle this case.
