Table of Metrics - Update November 2021

In 2018, CARB staff developed an assessment of the cumulative air pollution exposure burdens in impacted communities, this assessment includes identifying disadvantaged communities and locations with sensitive receptors. This assessment will help inform staff’s recommendation of communities for consideration by the CARB Governing Board. The statewide data in these tables of metrics complement more detailed local community-level assessments that will be part of community recommendation submittals by air districts and community-based organizations.

In July 2021, CARB staff updated the Table of Metrics (version 2.0) following the release of the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment’s (OEHHA) Draft CalEnviroScreen (CES) 4.0. In November 2021, CARB staff updated the Table of Metrics (version 2.1) to reflect OEHHA’s release of the finalized version of CES 4.0[1]. Listed below are the updated data field:

CARB staff will draw on the data presented in the Table of Metrics 2.1 along with analyses conducted by air districts and community-based organizations to support the community recommendations in the future. This can also be a tool for communities and other stakeholders can use to assess their community.
