Methane Task Force Public Meeting: On October 17 via remote access, CARB will host a public meeting of the Methane Task Force. The Task Force is comprised of CARB, the Department of Conservation’s Geologic Energy Management Division, and their respective umbrella agencies, CalEPA and the California Natural Resources Agency. This meeting will cover updates on the Shafter area joint oil and gas field inspections, information on an upcoming fugitive emissions study of oil and gas wells, and other program updates. Attendees will have the opportunity to make public comments.
Question-and-Answer Session on Proposed Funding Plan and Previous Meetings: On October 17 via remote access, CARB will host a public community workgroup as part of a series of monthly community meetings to discuss plans for funding clean transportation. CARB staff will be available to address public questions regarding the Low Carbon Transportation Investments and Air Quality Improvement Program proposed Funding Plan and information presented in previously held community meetings.
Training Webinar on Advanced Clean Fleets Regulation: On October 18 via remote access, CARB will host a training webinar on the Advanced Clean Fleets Regulation. This will be the first of several public online training webinars on the regulation.
Information Session on In-Use Off-Road Diesel-Fueled Fleets Regulation Amendments: On October 19 via remote access, CARB will host a public information session on the 2022 amendments to the In-Use Off-Road Diesel-Fueled Fleets Regulation. These amendments are intended to further reduce emissions from the off-road sector. The earliest requirements begin January 1, 2024. This will be the second of four public information sessions designed to present key information about the regulation and to solicit questions from attendees. This session will contain the same material that was presented in the first, which took place October 5. The two remaining sessions are scheduled to take place on November 8 and December 5.
Zero-Emission Truck Showcase + Ride & Drive Event: On October 20 in Chula Vista, CARB and CASTART will host a free event titled, “Zero-Emission Truck Showcase + Ride & Drive Event.” Information will be presented on the Advanced Clean Fleets Regulation, choosing a zero-emission vehicle, incentive opportunities, and the Cal Fleet Advisor technical assistance program. Attendees will have the opportunity to test drive zero-emission trucks, learn about zero-emission technologies, and pose questions to CARB staff.
Executive Officer Hearing: On October 20 in Sacramento and via webcast, the Board will hear the following agenda item: 1) proposed amendments to the Heavy-Duty Engine and Vehicle Omnibus Regulation.
