Public Work Group Meeting on Long-Term Heavy-Duty Investment Strategy: On May 5 via webinar, CARB staff will hold a work group meeting to discuss the Fiscal Year (FY) 2021-22 Long-Term Heavy-Duty Investment Strategy (Strategy). Required under Senate Bill 1403 (Lara, Chapter 370, 2018), the Strategy is built upon previous years’ work. CARB staff will share updates on school buses throughout the State as well as the Strategy for FY 2021-2022.
Public Workshop on Advanced Clean Cars II: On May 6 via webinar, CARB staff will hold a public workshop to provide input on the development of the Advanced Clean Cars II (ACC II) regulations. The ACC II regulations seek to reduce criteria and greenhouse gas emission from new light- and medium-duty vehicles beyond 2025 model year and increase the number of ZEVs for sale. Staff will present updated analyses and proposals to amend the ZEV Regulation and will provide updates on projections of costs for future ZEV technologies as well as proposed measures to ensure ZEV durability and serviceability.
Public Workshop on Amendments to the In-Use Off-Road Diesel Regulation: On May 6 via webinar, CARB staff will hold a public workshop to begin the discussion of potential proposed amendments to the In-Use Off-Road Diesel-Fueled Fleets Regulation. The goal of these amendments are to reduce emissions of criteria pollutants and toxics from off-road diesel vehicles operating in California. At this workshop, CARB staff will solicit input from stakeholders on approaches to achieving the emission reduction goals as well as the initial concepts and scope.
Training Webinar on Diesel Particulate Filter Operations and Maintenance: On May 6 via remote access, CARB staff will hold a training webinar on Diesel Emission Control Strategies as well as diesel particulate filter (DPF) technology. The course will cover health impacts from diesel emissions, diesel emission control technology, DPF construction and application, and the maintenance necessary for successful DPF operation.
Public Workshop on 2020 Mobile Source Strategy: On May 6 via webinar, CARB will hold its third public workshop on the revised draft of the 2020 Mobile Source Strategy and updated Mobile Emissions Toolkit for Analysis (META). During the workshop, CARB staff will present the scenarios and concepts that modeling has shown will be necessary in each mobile sector to achieve California’s air quality, climate, and community risk reduction goals and highlight updates that have been made since the November 2020 release. An overview of the updated version of the META tool as well as the new regulatory and programmatic concepts that will provide near-term benefits in disadvantaged communities will also be provided at this workshop.
