Yael Trucking, Inc. Case Settles for $5,250
In March 2015, Yael Trucking, Inc. paid $5,250.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $3,938.00 went to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $1,312.00 went to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Yael Trucking, Inc. failed to bring their Transport Refrigeration Units (TRU) in compliance with the applicable in-use performance standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the TRU Airborne Toxic Control Measure. To settle the case, Yael Trucking, Inc. agreed to the $5,250.00 penalty and to comply with TRU and other ARB programs.
