Winmar Transportation Settles for $4,350
On August 30, 2011, Winmar Transportation (WT) agreed to pay $4,350.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations; $3,262.75 will go to the California Air Pollution Control Fund and $1,087.50 to the Peralta Community College District for distribution to participating California Community Colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program. An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that WT failed to comply with the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP), the Emission Control Label (ECL) requirement and the Transport Refrigeration Unit (TRU) rule. To settle the case, WT agreed to the $4,350.00 penalty and to comply with the PSIP, ECL and TRU rule.
