Wilhelmsen Ship Management Case Settles for $5,250

Wilhelmsen Ship Management (Norway) AS,paid $5,250.00 in penalties to the California Air Resources Board (ARB), for violating the Ocean-Going Vessels fuel regulations.  The violation was discovered during a routine inspection of the vessel by ARB staff.  This settlement was reached on July 11, 2018.  An investigation by ARB showed that the Wilhelmsen Ship Management vessel Tarago failed to operate on compliant fuel upon entry into Regulated California Waters in 2018.  ARB alleged one violation for a period of seven hours, and the penalty was reduced for cooperative efforts and first time violator. Wilhelmsen Ship Management took prompt action after being notified of these violations and under ARB’s supervision began operating in a compliant fashion.  To settle the case Wilhelmsen Ship Management agreed to the $5,250.00 penalty, and to comply with ARB regulations
