Western Fragrant Corporation Settles For $5,530
In January 2020, the California Air Resources Board and Western Fragrant Corporation of Irvine, California, reached a settlement agreement in the amount $5,530. Western Fragrant Corporation sold, supplied, offered, and/or manufactured temporary hair color products in California containing concentrations of volatile organic compounds (VOC) that exceeded the standards specified in title 17, California Code of Regulations section 94509(a). The violation resulted in approximately 0.28 tons of excess VOC emissions. Moving forward, Western Fragrant Corporation is changing their business practices to ensure future compliance, including changing the manufacturer they are sourcing the product from and independent testing of the products.
