West Coast Express, Inc. Case Settles for $5,000
West Coast Express, Inc. will pay $5,000.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality. This settlement was reached in May 2017.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that West Coast Express, INc. failed to bring two of their trucks and one transport refrigeration unit (TRU) into compliance with the applicable in-use performance standards and failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP), the TRU Airborne Toxic Control Measure, and the Truck and Bus (TB) Regulation. To settle the case, West Coast Express, Inc. agreed to the $5,000.00 penalty and to comply with PSIP, TRU, TB, and other ARB programs.
