Weistec Engineering, Inc. Case Settles for $6,500
In May of 2019, Weistec Engineering, Inc. (Weistec) of Anaheim, California settled its case with the California Air Resources Board (CARB). The case involved the sale of calibrations, or tunes, for stock electronic control units (ECU) without a CARB Executive Order. The parts altered or modified the original design or performance of the motor vehicle pollution control device or system. This conduct was in violation of California Code of Regulations title 13, 2222, Vehicle Code 27156 and 38391. Weistec has agreed to pay a $54 per unit penalty, resulting in a total penalty amount of $6,500.
Weistec has agreed not to sell any ECUs in violation of California Code of Regulations, title 13, section 2222 and California Vehicle Code sections 27156 and 38391. Weistec has obtained Executive Orders for their products and is now in compliance with California Regulations
