Venoco, Inc. Case Settles for $20,000.00

Venoco submitted its greenhouse gas emissions data report for the year 2011, its first, eight days late. In gathering data for that report, Venoco failed to make certain measurements to the required level of accuracy, in violation of the Regulation for the Mandatory Reporting of Greenhouse Gas Emissions, California Code of Regulations, title 17, section 95100 et seq. The report received an adverse verification statement. Venoco cooperated with ARB, allowing the calculations to be corrected. To resolve the matter, Venoco agreed to update its Greenhouse Gas Monitoring Plan, and to pay a penalty of $20,000.
