Valley Auto Transport Inc. Case Settles for $4,000
Central Valley Auto Transport Inc. agreed to pay $4,000 in penalties; $3,000 to the California Air Pollution Fund and $1,000 to Peralta Community College District, for violating air quality regulations. An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Central Valley Auto Transport Inc. failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP). To settle the case, Central Valley Auto Transport Inc. agreed to the $4,000 penalty and to comply with the PSIP and other ARB programs.
