Truitt Oilfield Maintenance Corp. Case Settles for $51,750
In October 2014, the Truitt Oilfield Maintenance Corp. (Truitt) paid $51,750.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $38,813.00 went to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $12,937.00 went to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Truitt failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards. Truitt was also out of compliance with the Statewide Truck and Bus Regulation. To settle the case, Truitt agreed to the $51,750.00 penalty and to comply with the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program, Statewide Truck and Bus Regulation and other ARB programs.
