$1,500 in Fines Paid by Trojan Petroleum,Inc.
In March, 2009, Trojan Petroleum, Inc. paid $1,500 in penalties for violating air quality regulations; $1,125 went to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, $187.50 to the Peralta Community College District for distribution to participating California Council on Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) colleges, and $187.50 to the California Pollution Control Financing Authority to guarantee loans to off-road vehicle fleets that need to buy exhaust retrofits to comply with the in-use off-road diesel vehicle regulation. This settlement was reached on March 24, 2009. An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Trojan Petroleum, Inc. failed to comply with the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) in 2006 and 2007 years on applicable diesel vehicles. To settle the case, Trojan Petroleum, Inc. agreed to the $1,500 penalty and to comply with the PSIP, Heavy-Duty Diesel Inspection (HDVIP), and other ARB Programs.
