Tractor Supply Company Case Settles for $6,650
In May 2018, the Tractor Supply Company (TSC) settled its case with the California Air Resources Board (CARB) involving one violation type related to offers for sale of mislabeled small off-road engines. During routine field inspections, CARB field staff documented and issued offer for sale violations at TSC’s California stores. One hundred thirty-three small off-road engines lacked an unconditional statement of compliance with the appropriate model year(s) California regulations on its engine labels. This is TSC’s third settlement with CARB for small off-road engines in California in six years. TSC has agreed to pay a $50 per unit penalty resulting in a total penalty amount of $6,650. TSC is a Delaware corporation doing business in interstate commerce. TSC is now in compliance with the California regulation.
