Textron Specialized Vehicles Inc. Settles For $72,500
In August 2023, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) reached a settlement with Textron Specialized Vehicles Inc. (TSV), with its principal location in Augusta, Georgia, related to the company’s production of off-highway motor vehicle model years 2019-2022 that were not compliant with exhaust emissions certification requirements, in violation of Health and Safety Code sections 43151-43153, and the California Code of Regulations, title 13, sections 2400(a)(2) and 2410(a)(2).
TSV fully cooperated with CARB to resolve this matter. Terms of the settlement include a requirement for TSV to comply with all other CARB regulations going forward. Of the total settlement amount, $36,250 in civil penalties will be deposited into CARB’s Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California’s air quality. The remaining amount of $36,250 will fund a Supplemental Environmental Project (SEP) entitled Fresno TREES Phase 4 – Malaga Recreation Park. This SEP provides tree planting, air quality tracking, and tree care and maintenance for Malaga Recreation Park.
