Summary

Would have required CARB, upon appropriation by the Legislature, to develop project grant criteria and guidelines for a new On-Road Heavy-Duty Vehicle Incentive Program (VIP2), within the Carl Moyer program. The VIP2 program created by the bill would have required the program to provide additional incentives for projects that were deployed in disadvantaged communities. Was not heard in the Assembly Transportation Committee.

2020 - Assembly Bill 2455 (Medina, Jose), Natural Gas and Electric Battery Vehicles: Weight Limits (Dead)

Summary

Would have removed “near-zero emission and zero-emission vehicles” from existing weight requirements and instead would have allowed a weight exceedance for “natural gas vehicle or electric battery vehicles."  Existing law authorizes near-zero-emission heavy-duty vehicles to exceed gross weight limits by up to 2,000 pounds on federal interstate highways and State roadways; and zero-emission heavy-duty vehicles to exceed gross weight limits by up to 2,000 pounds on California roadways.  Was not heard in Assembly Transportation Committee.
