Sysco Food Services of Northern California, Inc. Case Settles for $5,000
In March 2011, SYSCO Food Services of Central California, Inc. agreed to pay $5,000.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations; $3,750.00 went to the California Air Pollution Control Fund and $1,250.00 to the Peralta Community College District.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that SYSCO Food Services of Central California, Inc. submitted false engine model number data in the Air Resources Board Equipment Registration (ARBER) system for their California-based TRUs which according to Title 13 of the California Code of Regulations (CCR), section 2477 (e) (1) (E) (1) (d) is a violation of state law. SYSCO Food Services of Central California, Inc. is required to correct the false engine data in the ARBER system and has agreed to comply with the TRU rule and all applicable ARB regulations.
