Superior Truck Lines, Inc. Case Settles for $87,250
Superior Truck Lines, Inc. will pay $87,250 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $65,500 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $21,750 will go to the School Bus Retrofit Project to retrofit school buses throughout California with diesel emission control strategies. This settlement was reached in March 2016.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Superior Truck Lines, Inc. failed to bring nineteen of their heavy-duty diesel trucks into compliance with the diesel particulate matter best available control technology. ARB documented violations as they related to the Truck and Bus Regulation. To settle the case, Superior Truck Lines, Inc. agreed to the $87,250 penalty and to comply with the Truck and Bus Regulation and other applicable ARB regulations.
