Super Sightseeing Tours Case Settles for $5,625.00
In September 2013, Super Sightseeing Tours agreed to pay $5,625 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $4,219 will go to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $1,406 will go to Peralta Community College District to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Super Sightseeing Tours failed to report on time to the TRUCRS database in order to take advantage of the phase-in compliance option of the Statewide Truck and Bus regulation. To settle the case, Super Sightseeing Tours agreed to the $5,625 penalty and to comply with Statewide Truck and Bus regulations, and all other ARB diesel emission regulations.
