Shop Safely, LLC Settles For $3,000
In October 2023, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) reached a settlement with Shop Safely, LLC (Safely) with its principal location in Culver City, California, for the company’s violation of the Regulation for Reducing Emissions From Consumer Products (Consumer Products Regulation), as codified in the California Code of Regulations, title 17, section 94807 et seq.
CARB staff conducted an investigation that revealed Safely sold, supplied, offered for sale or manufactured for use in California, general purpose cleaner category products that did not meet the product dating requirements as stated in California Code of Regulations, title 17, section 94512(b) and did not provide CARB and explanation of the code by January 31 of the year required by California Code of Regulations, title 17, § 94512(c)(1).
Safely cooperated fully with CARB to resolve this matter. To come into compliance, Safely submitted an explanation of the code to CARB and will continue to submit the explanation of the code to CARB annually by January 31 of the year to meet requirements in California Code of Regulations, title 17, section 94512(c)(1). The penalty of $3,000 for failing to meet administrative requirements will be deposited into CARB’s Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California’s air quality.
