$10,000 in Fines Paid by Shell

Shell self-reported that on August 19, 2006, they had started shipping a batch of designated alternative limit diesel fuel from their Martinez refinery, but had failed to submit notification of the blend until August 20, 2006. The regulation requires that notification be received by ARB before the start of physical transfer. The violation occurred because of laboratory software errors. The case has been settled for $10,000 and closed during July 2007.
