Servin Trucking Case Settles for $4,875
In April 2015, Servin Trucking paid $4,875.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $3,656.00 went to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $1,219.00 went to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Servin Trucking failed to bring its heavy duty diesel vehicles in compliance with the applicable in-use performance standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the Truck and Bus regulation and Periodic Smoke Inspection Program. To settle the case, Servin Trucking agreed to the $4,875.00 penalty and to comply with the Truck and Bus and PSIP regulations.
