Seaside Refrigerated Transport, Inc. Case Settles for $9,750.00
In December 2013 Seaside Refrigerated Transport, Inc. paid $9,750.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations; $7,312.50 went to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality and $2,437.50 went to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program.
An investigation by CARB showed Seaside Refrigerated Transport, Inc. failed to bring their fleet of transport refrigeration units (TRUs) into compliance with the TRU Air Toxic Control Measure (ATCM) in-use performance standard. CARB documented these violations as they related to the TRU ATCM. To settle the case, Seaside Refrigerated Transport, Inc. agreed to the $9,750.00 penalty and to comply with the TRU ATCM and all other applicable CARB rules.
