Sanchotena Express Case Settles for $21,500
In October 2015 the Air Resources Board and Sanchotena Express reached a settlement for violations of the Truck and Bus regulation. Sanchotena Express agreed to pay $21,500.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $5,375.00 will be paid to the Peralta Colleges Foundation for education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology Program; and $16,125.00 will be paid to the Air Pollution Control Fund research and projects directed at improving California's air quality.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board found that Sanchotena Express failed to bring 6 of their heavy duty diesel vehicles into compliance with the Truck and Bus in-use performance standards. Sanchotena Express provides goods movement along the United States and Mexico border from San Diego, California and Tijuana, Mexico.
