Roadrunner Transportation Systems, Inc. Case Settles for $52,250
Roadrunner Transportation Systems, Inc. will pay $52,250.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $27,250.00 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality and $25,000 will go to California Safe Schools, which provides funding for the Ground Truthing Supplemental Environmental Project (SEP). This settlement was executed on December 19, 2017.
In 2016, Enforcement Division initiated an investigation of Roadrunner Transportation Systems, Inc. from Enforcement Division’s complaints database. The investigation revealed that Roadrunner Transportation Systems, Inc. had failed to verify compliance for each vehicle hired or dispatched and to maintain records as required by the Truck and Bus Regulation. In addition, Roadrunner Transportation Systems, Inc. hired vehicles not compliant with the Truck and Bus Regulation. To settle the case, Roadrunner Transportation Systems, Inc. has agreed to the $52,250.00 penalty and to comply with the Truck and Bus regulation and other CARB applicable regulations.
