Ridge Runner of Idaho, Ltd. Case Settles for $12,000

During our ongoing investigation into the sale and use of non-California certified Off-Highway Recreational Vehicles (OHRV), staff for the Mobile Source Enforcement Section discovered that Ridge Runner of Idaho, Ltd., located in Nampa Idaho, offered for sale and sold to a California resident illegal non-California certified sand car.  This is a violation of California Health and Safety Code Section 43150 through 43153.  Ridge Runner agreed to pay into the Air Pollution Control Fund $12,000 to settle these violations.  We received information that Ridge Runner went out of business and that the owner had lost everything after receiving $7,500 in penalties.  We closed this case in June 2009.
