The Clean Energy and Pollution Reduction Act of 2015 (Senate Bill 350) directs the California Air Resources Board (CARB or Board), in coordination with the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) and California Energy Commission (CEC), to establish 2030 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets for the electricity sector and electricity providers. In November 2020, CARB released the Senate Bill 350 Integrated Resource Planning Electricity Sector Greenhouse Gas Planning Targets: Draft 2020 Update (Draft 2020 Update). CARB staff is currently reviewing stakeholder comments on the proposed targets and intends to finalize the targets soon.
