The Clean Energy and Pollution Reduction Act of 2015 (Senate Bill 350) directs the California Air Resources Board (CARB or Board), in coordination with the California Public Utilities Commission and California Energy Commission, to establish 2030 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets for the electricity sector and electricity providers. These 2030 GHG emissions reduction targets are described in a July 2018 CARB staff report. The targets were approved at the July 2018 Board hearing.
In March 2021, CARB staff released a 2020 Update, which provides revised 2030 GHG emissions targets for certain electricity providers.
