In June of 2016, at a board meeting which discussed low carbon transportation investments, the Board requested staff to provide an update on the school bus population in California, a plan for addressing the ‘dirty buses’ in the state, and funding resources available.
This presentation, given to the Board in December 2016 (Item 16-11-2 starts at 1:37:43), touches on the children’s health and exposure studies, the history of CARB’s school bus programs, the current California school bus population, the funding resources available and concludes with some of the challenges and the steps that must be taken to continue California school bus clean-up efforts.
