RARA Trucking Inc. Case Settles for $10,200
RARA Trucking Inc. will pay $10,200.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $7,650.00 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $2,550.00 will go to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program. This settlement was reached in September 21, 2016.
In June 2015, Enforcement Division initiated an investigation on RARA Trucking Inc. from an anonymous complaint. The investigation revealed that RARA Trucking Inc: (1) failed to meet PM BACT requirements for one 1996 through 1999 engine model years by January 1, 2012; (2) failed to meet PM BACT requirements for one 1994 through 1995 engine model years by January 1, 2016; (3) failed to report all vehicles with engines subject to the regulation for which the fleet owner has elected to utilize the compliance options of 13 CCR § 2025(p)(4); (3) failed to verify compliance for each vehicle hired or dispatched and to maintain records as required by the Truck and Bus Regulation. ARB documented violations as they related to the Truck and Bus Regulation. To settle the case, RARA Trucking Inc. has agreed to the $10,200.00 penalty and to comply with the Truck and Bus regulation and other ARB applicable regulations.
